Job Specific Duties:
The critical care RN functions as part of a team to provide direct patient care in mobile intensive care setting, with the assistance of other allied health professionals. They transport patients to a higher-level facility and provide advanced care to the most critical. This nursing role offers many unique opportunities for the ideal candidate, including:
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Progressive standing orders and medical scope of practice
- Utilizes specialized equipment including Ventricular Assist Device, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ECMO, and transport ventilators.
- Plays an integral part in the regional Surgical Emergency Response Team (SERT), providing advanced surgical, stabilization, and transport capabilities for patients in the pre-hospital setting.
This position offers opportunity for a two-week rotating schedule or a set three day per week schedule. Shifts are 12 hours in length and based out of our facility in Dayton, Ohio.
Operational Duties:
- Performs regular assigned shift duties.
- Maintains cleaning standards of station(s), vehicle(s), and equipment.
- Completes detailed patient and operational reporting, in a timely manner.
- Participates in continuing education and skill competency programs
- Acts as a preceptor and/or participates in orientation of new employees to cultivate culture and skillsets
Education Requirements:
- Current Ohio Nursing license
- CPR, ACLS and PALS certification
- Associates degree from accredited school of nursing, with Bachelor’s required within 5 years of employment
- Recent nursing experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care (ICU) setting
- Pre-hospital certification and experience as an EMT or Paramedic preferred
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and/or Critical Care Register Nurse (CCRN) preferred
