About the Job
As a member of the KONG Sales Team, this position is responsible for driving and leading the account management efforts of the KONG Retail Club (KRC) program within the US Pet Specialty customer base. This position also collaborates on the development of sales and marketing support collateral with various teams and departments within the organization.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Represent KONG’s constant interest in educating customers and consumers on KONG’s brand and value to both pet and pet parent within the customer relationship.
- Develop opportunities within customer business model to leverage KRC strategy across service areas.
- Maintain a positive customer relationship while balancing the needs of the customer with the priorities of KONG in mind.
- Work with KONG cross functional teams, 3rd party sales representation and the customer team to facilitate the implementation of the KRC program.
- Lead customer discussions internally across all levels of the organization, be established as the premier expert on the KRC program and customers.
- Lead relationships with off-site sales rep groups on all aspects of the KRC program.
- Provide leadership and guidance to both KONG and customer team members on issues working toward mutually agreeable resolution.
- Guide internal KONG support team of account services, forecasting, purchasing, marketing, operations and logistics toward a mutually beneficial relationship between KONG & customer.
- Maintain current and accurate documentation: price sheet, assortment, promotion plan and retail plan-o-gram.
- Collaborate with the Product Management team on customer specific product development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in sales management, marketing, communications, or related field.
- Ability to travel 50% percent of the time.
- Possess an innate mindset of outstanding customer service, both within KONG and toward customer.
- Effective communication of needs, ideas, and solutions with cross functional work groups.
- Ability to develop solutions through research, analysis and problem solving.
- Lead effort across internal work groups to build solutions for customer challenges and opportunities.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative, detail-oriented, analytical and efficient.
- Work well with tight deadlines, be flexible as priorities change.
- Foster strong and trusted relationships across all working groups.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks and quickly learn new skills.
- Must possess strong working knowledge in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds and occasional up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Compensation
- From $65,000 annually
- Quarterly profit sharing
Work Location
- KONG Headquarters - Golden, Colorado
- Onsite Monday through Friday
