Conduct high-level complex research for attorneys and clients in all offices. Utilize appropriate fee-based and value-added resources to provide timely and cost effective results. Establish actionable intelligence alerts for attorneys. Oversee the department's resource management system and ensure all research resources are accessible to the firm. Support the firm's knowledge management initiative by actively investigating and implementing new technologies to support the practice of law. Maintain practice-specific resources and build out the firm's intranet. Participate in special projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-depth research analysis to support client matters. Use independent judgment to identify issues and determine best resources to provide timely, accurate and cost effective research.
- Analyze, summarize, and customize results to meet the specific requirements of the requestor.
- Establish actionable intelligence alerts for attorneys on clients, potential clients, cases and other practice or industry-specific topics.
- Foster strong working relationships with colleagues, outside libraries, vendors and associations to ensure prompt service.
- Prioritize multiple research projects while balancing tight deadlines, availability of resources and cost restrictions.
- Track time for client billing purposes.
- Oversee the department's resource management system, SIMA, to ensure accurate records for the firm's research collection.
- Conduct detailed interviews with attorneys in order to understand and clarify the subject, scope and purpose of the requestor's information need.
- Ensure end-users are able to search, find and access information through the intranet.
- Evaluate the quality, authenticity, accuracy and cost of research tools and new technology to be used in meeting the knowledge management and research needs of attorneys across all offices.
- Work closely with the KM Research Coordinator to ensure the management of and access to resources is streamlined and efficient across all offices.
- Attend CLEs, seminars, webinars, conferences and other training sessions and read professional news, blogs, and journals to keep abreast of new developments in KM and Research resources, systems and practices.
- Participate in special projects and provide backup and overflow services as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Master's Degree in Library Science or equivalent from an ALA accredited school.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a law firm library or corporate law library environment.
- Familiarity and experience with a variety of KM & research tools, including but not limited to SharePoint, HighQ, Smartsheet, Kira, Drafting Assistant, Practical Law, SIMA, Westlaw, Lexis, Pacer, Intelligize, D&B, Bloomberg, Vital Law, Courthouse News, Courtlink, Derwent, Docket Navigator, Accurint.
- Fluent in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to allocate and use time effectively to manage schedules, priorities, and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment and self-direct.
- Outstanding communication skills that enable clear, concise oral and written communication.
- High level of customer service.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- High sense of responsiveness to be able to answer routine and urgent requests.
- Ability to work with vendors, attorneys and other users to troubleshoot resource issues.
