Part Time Cook - 32 hours / week

Positions:
- 32 hours / week, including every other weekend
- Day Shift, with one rotating Evening Shift required
- Week 1: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat Week 2: Sun, Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri
Pay: $20.25 - $21.90 per hour
Shift Differential: Additional $1/hr for evening hours, and $1.25/hr for weekends

This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality in the preparation and service of quantity food using standardized recipes. Maintaining sanitation standards according to regulations. The Cook is also responsible for the general supervision of the Dining Services Team in the absence of the Lead Cook
Employment Qualifications of Cook:
- Experience in large quantity food production preferred.
- Personal hygiene and dress must conform with required standards.
- Must be able to read, write and follow written instructions.
- Must have basic knowledge of safe and sanitary equipment handling
- Gifted in hospitality and genuine desire to serve others.
- Ability to add and subtract and do basic culinary calculations
Essential Duties of Cook:
1. Prepares meals according to recipes and instructions. Adjusting for altered diets and diets specific to the resident, ensuring quantity, nutritional, and quality standards are met.
2. Participates in Special catering functions as needed.
3. Complies with all safety standards and ensure that dining team members maintain a safe work environment
4. Responsible to follow safety guidelines in the event of staff injury
5. Complies with all regulations governing handling and storage of food supplies, equipment and methods of sanitation.
6. Notifies the Maintenance Department of broken or malfunctioning equipment via work requisitions.
7. Also Responsible for:
a. Maintaining foods at safe temperatures
b. Checks and records refrigerator and freezer temperatures
c. Locking/unlocking kitchen and dining room doors
d. Assist in the cleaning jobs, including refrigerators, ranges, ovens, grills, appliances and work areas.
e. Ensuring food is within use by dates, and discarding items that are past those dates.
8. Participates in facility-wide in-service training program.
9. Regularly interacts with residents during meal time.
10. Provides input for the facility menu cycles.
11. Performs other duties as required by facility needs.
Compensation details: 20.25-21.9 Hourly Wage
