About the Job
Following Mekiko Cantina Recipes to create delicious food and help manage the kitchen team.
Responsibilities-
***Properly learn and execute all of our recipes and procedures for prepping and cooking. Maintain consistency and quality of food.
***Responsible for daily par sheet completion.
***Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including walk-ins and dry storage. All items must be date dotted properly and use First In First Out best practice.
***Place orders from various vendors including, meats, produce, dry goods, paper goods, cleaning goods etc...
***Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedures and ensure all kitchen staff is following as well.
***Keep food orders flowing continuously from the kitchen to our guests.
***Help with stocking and checking in of ALL deliveries.
***Train prep and line cooks to do their duties, complete tasks and ensure they are delivering quality items from the kitchen.
***Strong problem-solving skills and being able to delegate tasks.
***Possess good customer service etiquette.
***Be a team leader and motivator especially during a busy kitchen rush.
Pay can be hourly or salary, based on experience.
Availability for morning and/or evening shifts.
Job Qualifications: Must have prep cook, line cook and shift lead/management experience in a full service restaurant for 2 years. Excellent organizational skills and being able to multitask is key.
Perform the Physical Demands: Remain on your feet for several hours at a time. Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. Withstand high temperature conditions, bend, kneel, and stoop.
Experience with Mexican food is a plus!
