About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Manager to join our team at a fast-paced Sports Bar & Grill. The Kitchen Manager will oversee all kitchen operations, manage kitchen employees in 8 kitchens, and ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. This position will play a key role in menu development, cost control, and ensuring that kitchen operations run smoothly in a high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead, supervise, and train staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Ensure all staff are properly trained in food safety, kitchen procedures, and customer service expectations.
- Food Quality & Consistency: Maintain high standards for food quality, taste, and presentation. Ensure consistency in food preparation and ensure that all menu items are prepared according to company specifications.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with management to help design, test, and refine menu items, incorporating customer feedback and seasonal ingredients.
- Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor and control food and labor costs, ensuring they stay within established budgets. Track inventory and order supplies as needed, optimizing stock levels to minimize waste while meeting operational needs.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that the kitchen operates in compliance with local health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and cleanliness. Regularly inspect the kitchen to ensure proper sanitation practices are followed.
- Inventory & Ordering: Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and rotating inventory to prevent spoilage. Ensure the kitchen is always well-equipped and prepared for busy shifts.
- Staff Scheduling: Create and manage work schedules for kitchen employees, ensuring appropriate staffing levels based on business needs and maintaining labor cost control.
- Operational Efficiency: Monitor kitchen operations and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Customer Service: Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders, addressing any customer concerns or complaints regarding food quality.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar kitchen leadership role, preferably in a fast-casual or high-volume restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory control, and cost management.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage kitchen staff effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
