United Staffing Solutions is representing an assisted housing company in New York, NY who is looking for experienced Assistant Cooks to join their team. This would a temporary position working various locations

As an Assistant Cook, you will play a crucial role in our culinary team, preparing and delivering menu items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events. You will be responsible for various roles and cooking stations. Cooks must adhere to strict recipes, ingredients, and dietary constraints.

Responsibilties also include aiding in cleaning, dishwashing, and receiving products into the kitchen.

All Candidates must have a NY Food Protection Certification.

Pay: $20-$22/hr depending on experience

Schedule: various schedules, this is for temporary fill in shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute pre-preparation, setup, cooking, and order service for a diverse range of menu items.
• Work in various stations including Grill Cook, Sauté Cook, Fry Cook, Pantry Cook, and Short Order Cook.
• Follow production schedules, recipes, and portion guidelines to prepare meals efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and utensils using a 'clean as you go' approach.
• Adhere to safe food handling practices, ensuring proper temperature maintenance and HACCP guidelines.
• Collaborate with fellow team members and communicate effectively with expeditors and service staff.
• Uphold the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation for all dishes.
• Work efficiently during peak service times while minimizing waste and maintaining food quality.
