Position Summary:
Performs echocardiograms and vascular ultrasounds utilizing ultrasound equipment in accordance with established practices and procedures for Kootenai Heart Clinics.
Responsibilities:
- Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies cardiologists of results of examinations
- Consults with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements
- Calibrates and maintains equipment when needed, maintains operational logs
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of tasks
- Works under general supervision
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
- Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree (AAS), or equivalent, from a CAAHEP accredited college or technical school in noninvasive cardiovascular (or; experience and training necessary for designation of “Registry Eligible” in Echocardiography and vascular sonography) required
- ARDMS credentialed in RDCS or CCI credentialed in RCS required within 6 months of hire
- ARDMS credentialed in RVT or CCI credentialed in RVS required within 6 months of hire
- BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
