Role and Responsibilities
The Key Account Manager is responsible for business development and maintenance of an assigned existing customer portfolio. They are responsible for contributing towards the growth of our FAM STUMABO business, while servicing and maintaining new and existing customers. The Key Account Manager will also be responsible for generating new growth on an ongoing basis by networking, researching, prospecting, cold calling, following up, closing deals and managing accounts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain responsibility is the sale of the entire FAM STUMABO machine product line (Dicers, Shredders, Slicers)
- Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to competition
- Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
- Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
- Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner
- Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
- Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
- Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
- Network with prospective customers and collect information to determine business potential
- Establish, develop, nurture, and maintain business relationships
- Plan and organize personal sales strategy in a logical, cost-effective manner for the target market
- Generate machine quotations
- Build and maintain the pipeline of opportunities with weekly updates to the CRM and forecasting
- Travel extensively throughout the territory for meetings and client test trials
- Attend tradeshows as assigned
- Identify opportunities for service and product enhancements to drive sales growth while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and address pain points in their existing production processes and equipment
- Stay updated on industry trends and maintain technical proficiency through internal documentation and industry publications
- Develop comprehensive sales strategies for both short and long-term goals within the region.
- Thoroughly document all sales activities in the CRM including customer interactions such as visits, demonstrations, calls, emails, and texts
- Provide valuable market feedback to formulate growth plans for key industries within the region
- Collaborate with the sales team to secure projects in other regions, fostering a culture of teamwork and positive communication
- Monitor economic indicators within the region, including market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and competitor activities
- Achieve and surpass established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, with a focus on exceeding annual regional sales targets
- Flexibility to travel to customer locations as needed to support business objectives (50-75% travel is expected)
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree or relevant experience
- 5 years of experience in a technical sales role
- Experience with presenting at conferences
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior experience working with large multinational corporations
- Food and beverage industry experience
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- United States or Canadian Citizen
- Valid Passport without travel restrictions
- Valid Driver’s License, with no major violations within 3 years
- Bilingual (English & Spanish/French)
