About the Role
The Key Account Manager uses prior sales skills and experience to develop and maintain prospects and existing customers. This role identifies, engages, sells, and manages ongoing relationships with business accounts, exhibiting high proficiency in educational and relationship selling.
This position promotes and sells Tendit's suite of facility services to new and existing commercial, industrial, and institutional accounts.
The Day-to-Day Roles Will Include:
- Prospecting and engaging new pursuits while fully developing a seed book of business.
- Happily picking up the phone just as easily as sending an email.
- Scheduling and attending both in-person and virtual meetings.
- Expanding accounts by working with internal team members to craft solutions, meet customer's expectations, and fully leverage each opportunity.
- Working with prospective customers and gaining trust to work toward a strategic solution that only Tendit can provide
- Identify customer needs and preferences and communicate them to internal team members to ensure customer satisfaction and team success.
- Cross-selling Tendit services to all accounts, increasing revenue and account penetration.
- Partnering with internal departments to identify critical information, communicate the same information, and set appropriate customer expectations.
- Ensuring long-term customer retention through effective account management.
- Fully leverage customer success to increase referral business.
- Providing sales support to fellow team members and, in turn, supporting the organization's economic growth plan.
- Attracting and developing new business relationships through active participation in trade organizations and professional networking.
- Meeting or exceeding articulated sales targets monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of business-to-business sales experience required
- Excellence in relationship-building skills
- Enterprise sales experience is a strong plus
- High level of confidence and ease in engaging existing clients and prospects alike
- Strong sense of team and ability to work with internal partners
- Thrives when talking with new people, fully understanding their business and its needs
- Gets a rush out of closing a new account, then immediately looks for the next one when their new client has successfully transitioned.
- Panics when their sales pipeline is thin with prospects, then dives in to fix the problem.
- Experience working with C-suite level targets and penetrating enterprise-level accounts.
- Can overcome customer objections and negotiate terms
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Exposure to or experience in facilities management is preferred

Base compensation for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience, plus commission.
