About the Job
Overland Animal Hospital & Pet Resort - is offering careers to energetic, positive, compassionate new team members joining our resort team as a Kennel Technician. You will be trained as an animal handler and caregiver by professionals and have opportunities to explore your skills/interests as a leader, manager, team trainer, veterinary technician assistant, client care specialist and more. We are an AAHA-accredited, fast-paced, veterinary hospital, as well as grooming, and luxury daycare & overnight boarding services.
Our pet resort offers spacious, glass suites with raised cots, individual webcams, indoor/outdoor access, and other upgrade options. We create long term relationships with our clients by providing every pet with a 5-Star experience!
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring group and individual play times
- Feeding including special dietary and feeding requirements
- Medicating including insulin injections with training
- Interacting with & caring for the pets
- Cleaning individual suites and play areas
- Providing excellent communication and client service
- Checking pets in and out of pet resort
Requirements:
- Highly self-motivated, professional & reliable
- Compassion for animals
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

- Extreme comfort handling animals
- Willingness to learn about animal health and behavior
- Reliable transportation
- Able to work weekends and holidays
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Handle animals of various sizes, weights, and temperaments
- Work performed in high noise level areas
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and animal dander
- Physical efforts require bending, stooping, standing, and walking
- Some lifting of animals and objects up to 40 pounds with reasonable accommodation
