Kennel Assistant
East El Paso Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Kennel Assistant to join our team of dedicated veterinary professionals. Kennel Assistants are valuable members of our medical teams and play a crucial role in patient care. You will be responsible for providing direct support to the kennel and the care of its patients. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
● Animal handling and restraint
● Walking animals that may need support/assistance
● Knowledge of basic husbandry/feeding/and nutrition
● Administering medication to patients
● Maintain cleanliness of kennel areas
● Restock and organize kennel supplies
● Bathe/groom animals
● Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set
Skills and Qualifications:
● 2 years of professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, other), preferred
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve
● Ability to adjust to changes in the environment and able to handle stress in a calm manner
● Team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude
● Detail-oriented and the ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks
● Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds and stand for most of the day

East El Paso Animal Hospital, in beautiful El Paso, TX was founded in 1986 by Dr. Orlando Garza with the goal of providing compassionate, quality care to the El Paso community and surrounding areas. Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, horse, or other exotic pet, we’re here to care for them. With many ranches and large animals in our rural areas, our practice not only services patients in house; we also offer farm-calls and mobile vaccination clinics. The current facility was built in 2015 to include a large and comfortable waiting room with children’s play area, 5 treatment rooms and 2 surgical rooms. We offer boarding services with various sized runs and cages for smaller breeds. The hospital is also home to Grammie’s Grooming, a separate entity operating out of our facility for a one-stop-shop convenience to our clients.
