SummaryThe Special Education Case Manager/Learning Support Teacher creates and implements an inclusive and adaptive learning environment where all students, regardless of ability, thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role focuses on ensuring that students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) receive high-quality, standards-aligned instruction and targeted interventions. The teacher builds authentic relationships with students, collaborates with families, and works closely with general education teachers and support staff to foster equity and excellence in education. This individual plays a key role in advocating for students with diverse learning needs, promoting the school's core values of practice, service, and purpose. The Special Education Case Manager/Learning Support Teacher reports to the Assistant Principal of Specialized Services and collaborates with the school team to ensure compliance with special education requirements and effective delivery of services.

Responsibilities & Duties
Provide Individualized Support for Students with Disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Use data-driven strategies to provide targeted interventions and accommodations in alignment with state standards and the school's curriculum.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that addresses diverse learning styles and promotes academic growth.
Collaborate with Stakeholders
- Work closely with general education teachers to co-plan and co-teach, ensuring access to the curriculum for students with disabilities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families of students with IEPs, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing concerns.
- Coordinate with service providers (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure all related services are effectively delivered.
Ensure Compliance and Accountability
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of IEP meetings, progress reports, and compliance documentation.
- Lead IEP team meetings, ensuring collaboration among families, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and adjust interventions as needed to ensure success.
Promote an Inclusive Learning Environment
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom culture where students feel valued, respected, and empowered.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior support strategies to address individual needs.
- Advocate for equitable access to learning opportunities and resources for all students.
Contribute to School Culture and Growth
- Participate in professional development to deepen knowledge of special education best practices and compliance requirements.
- Support school-wide initiatives, events, and service-learning projects that align with the school's mission.
- Assist with duties such as supervision during lunch, recess, and transitions as needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification).
- At least one year of experience working with students with disabilities, with a demonstrated track record of success in improving outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, special education compliance, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
