Juvenile Program Coordinator (Full Time)
We are seeking a Juvenile Program Coordinator who will manage all case referrals from the Office of the Public Defender and KidsVoice, along with coordination of delinquency and dependency case representation. The Program Coordinator works with Chief Counsel and the Delinquency and Dependency Supervising Attorneys to identify conflicts of interest and develop procedures to best represent the Office of Conflict Counsel’s clients. Who is the Allegheny County Office of Conflict Counsel?
The Office of Conflict Counsel is part of the Allegheny County Public Defender’s office, which provides legal counsel when a client needs representation and is unable to afford it. All OCC cases are heard in the Juvenile Section of Allegheny County Family Division, which addresses cases involving dependency, delinquency, termination of parental rights, and other similar matters.

What Will You Be Responsible For?
- Performs all clerical duties, including creating case files and filing praecipes of appearance.
- Assigns cases to staff or count-appointed conflict attorneys in a timely manner.
- Conducts thorough conflict of interest checks with each case referral to the office.
- Coordinates with Family Division personnel to generate orders of appointment for staff and court-appointed attorneys.
- Provides relevant information to Juvenile Probation, the Office of the Public Defender, KidsVoice, Children, Youth, and Families, hearing officers, and other relevant parties.
- Maintains monthly and yearly statistics for the Delinquency and Dependency Divisions.
- Attends appropriate trainings as required.
- Timely process and transmit payment invoices from conflict panel attorneys
What Background and Skills Does the Ideal Candidate Have?
- Understanding of delinquency and dependency case progression
- Ability to work in a confidential environment and meet time restrictions
- Willingness to problem solve and operate with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Capacity for clear communication with attorneys and other personnel
- Competency to handle sensitive materials with discretion
- Familiarity with standard office equipment
- Familiarity and ability to utilize CPCMS system
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred -OR- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances are required.
Job Location
This is an onsite, office position based at the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office in downtown Pittsburgh, PA.
Salary and Benefits
Salary is $39,015 per year.
If hired, candidates would be employed by GL and assigned to Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office.This position is for full-time employment. As such, no other contracts for employment with Allegheny County to perform legal services will be permitted.
