We are currently seeking a seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to serve as a Tier-1 Technical Support Specialist for a 24x7 network operations center. The Junior Systems Administrator will perform a wide variety of Tier-1 technical tasks in support of operations, production and test environments, including network/system monitoring, user account creation, password resets/unlocks, share drive access, and software installations.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work a shift schedule, onsite
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance
- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
- Must have 6+ years of directly relevant experience
- Must have experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following: Red Hat Linux, Microsoft Windows, VMware, SharePoint, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Must have experience with monitoring system health and status
- Must have experience documenting problems and resolutions through a tracking program.
- Must have experience performing various administrative duties and provide technical assistance, with the supervision of a team leader to remotely located users.
- Must have prior Tier-1 experience, including general troubleshooting, triage, and system administration tasks.
- Must have a High School diploma or higher
Desired Skills and Certifications:
- Experience interfacing with various technical teams including software development, testing, integration, deployment, sustainment, maintenance, etc.
- Experience working in an Agile environment desired
- Experience with ITIL methodology desired.
- Experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following shell scripts and scripting languages: Bourne shell (sh), GNU Bourne-Again shell (bash), C shell (csh), Korn shell (ksh),
Z shell (zsh), Python, PERL, Powershell, etc. - Experience and/or familiarity with one or more of the following: TCP/IP, Cisco switches and routers, VLAN, firewall, VPN, storage arrays (RAID, Blades), etc.
- Experience performing incident response (tiered support model), using an Incident Management System.
- Tier II experience: Prioritize incidents. Perform detailed troubleshooting, root cause analysis. Determine multi-user, multi-system correlations.
- Tier III: Provide system administrative support to correct deficiencies noted in the trouble ticketing system for COTS and GOTS software packages.
- Experience interfacing directly with customer and program management team.
- Experience providing status to program management and input to customer status reports.
- Desired Certifications
- DoD 8570.1 IAT Level I (A+, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+, SSCP, or equivalent.
