Junior Refrigeration Field Service Technician

Apprentice Overview: The Junior Refrigeration Technician will work alongside experienced Service Technicians, gaining hands-on experience in installations, service, and maintenance. We service a variety of commercial kitchen equipment, including Walk-in Coolers and Freezers, Ice Machines, and Refrigeration units. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from industry experts and build a thriving career.
Field Apprentice Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technicians to master various tasks.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment.
- Maintain refrigeration units.
- Document repairs thoroughly.
- Install replacement components like compressors and evaporators.
- Ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications.
- Present proposals to clients as needed.
- Solve problems efficiently.
- Organize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships.
- Travel to job sites throughout Connecticut/Rhode Island.
- Interpret engineered drawings and operation sequences.
- Understand HVAC/R system operations.
- Showcase or learn controls installation skills.
Apprentice Requirements:
- 2-year technical certification or associate degree.
- Motivation to work in the HVAC/R industry, preferably with 1-3 years of HVAC/R related experience.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- EPA universal certification (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Possess essential hand tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to perform job tasks, including walking, standing, driving, and lifting.
