Mayzon., the industry leader in bathroom storage and organization, is
seeking to hire a Junior Engineer.
Mayzon operates a Fabrication & Assembly Factory, with 300+ employees running 24 hours a day. It encompasses a variety of Bath Products, Production Processes, and Different Materials. The factory specializes in Low cost, High Value consumer retail products primarily used in the bathroom. Such as cabinets, fixtures, rods, hooks, mirrors, etc.
Our factory contains these types of production processes…
- Wood Particle Board cabinets. Assembled and Ready to assemble. Like shelving, storage cabinets, and Medicine Cabinets.
- Plastic Injection Molded cabinets, caddies, accessories, waste baskets, laundry tubs, etc.
- Sheet metal bending and welding for Cabinets, with a Powder Coat Paint line.
- Shower curtain tension rods assembled with steel tubes.
We process many types of raw materials, such as…
- Plastic resins for injection molding.
- Laminated Particle board and MDF.
- Sheet metal.
The operation is labor intensive with some automation and requires significant process engineering to maintain and improve operational results.
Job Summary:
The Junior Engineer will perform routine, entry-level engineering tasks under the direct supervision of the Director of Business Technical with the goal of developing cost savings via new or improved production methods and materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides general, entry-level support to the engineering department.
- Verifies and tests assigned metrics on projects.
- Enters test results into quality control database.
- Identifies potential areas of product improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions.
- Ensures compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas.
- Identifies and reports problems with specific processes or products to senior engineers.
- Assists senior engineers in the development of new methods to improve product quality and process efficacy and efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to comprehend and follow directions.
- Detail Oriented
- Create and Read spreadsheets, logbooks, mechanical drawings.
- Write Reports
- Communicate requirements and problems with outside suppliers, via multiple modes of communication included but not limited to email, telephone, and Microsoft Teams
- Mechanical work, using hands to prepare dies and fixtures.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Basic understanding of ISO-9000.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. However, experience will be considered provided such experience relates to the scope of the position.
- Specific detailed knowledge of assembly automation and robotics a plus.
- Ability to create drawings in a computer program such as AutoCAD or Solid Works or Visio.
- Technical knowledge of factory processes involving wood, and/or plastic
- Experience or education in cost reduction / cost accounting a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to various job sites and traverse locations to obtain necessary data.
- Work hours are usually Mon to Fri, 8 to 5. But an occasional couple extra hours per week will be needed. Usually during the week. Rarely, but occasionally on the weekend.
- Flexible work hours.
- Must be able to travel, and be out for short distance, and short duration trips, for no more than 2 or3 trips per year.
