Junior Construction Estimator

Job Description:

Assists the Lead Construction Estimator with:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects
• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
• Utilize construction Agtek estimating software
• Conduct site visits to assess project scope and identify potential challenges or opportunities
• Prepare detailed takeoffs and quantity surveys for various construction disciplines
• Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget
• Collaborate with the project management team to develop cost control strategies

Requirements:

• Some knowledge of construction estimating principles and techniques
• Excellent mathematical skills for accurate quantity takeoffs and cost calculations
• Basic understanding of construction management principles and practices
• Ability to negotiate contracts
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders including architects, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in cost estimation
• Ability to analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential risks or opportunities
• Civil Engineering or Project Management degree is a plus!
