SUMMARY: The Junior Buyer is responsible for procuring floral products and supplies necessary for bouquet production. This role involves negotiating with vendors, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products. They are detail-oriented, possess strong negotiation skills, and have extensive knowledge of the floral industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
? Purchase floral products, supplies, and materials required for bouquet production, ensuring high quality and cost efficiency.
? Monitor inventory levels, forecast needs, and place orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
? Inspect received goods to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
? Analyze market trends and negotiate competitive pricing to manage costs effectively.
? Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and inventory levels.
? Work closely with the production team to understand their needs and ensure timely supply of materials.
? Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and vendor performance to senior management.
? Address any issues related to supply shortages, quality discrepancies, or vendor performance promptly.
? Follow up with vendors regarding order confirmations, both verbally and via email.
? Prepare purchase orders (POs) and solicit bid proposals, reviewing requisitions for goods and services.
? Process all credit applications with vendors.
? Provide vendors with the California resale certification upon request.
? Resolve any pricing and receiving discrepancies with suppliers and accounting.
? Schedule deliveries according to the directions of the Purchasing Manager.
? Create and process credit memos.
? Collaborate closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure smooth operations throughout the supply chain.
