Job DescriptionAbout the position
We are looking for a talented Junior Biomedical Engineer for a microfluidic device, and cartridge, who will assist the development of molecular diagnostics and life science instruments. As an essential part of the R&D Team, you will play a key role in the fabrication and quality control of microfluidic devices, our products and the support of overall lab operations. Successful applicants will be able to effectively manage complex device fabrication processes with attention to details. Flexibility is important in adjusting to changes in work volume and focus in a fast-paced, early stage company environment.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of a microfluidic device/cartridge fabrication process including: device inspection, cleaning, drying, bonding, assembly, and quality control
- Execute an optical thin film deposition using physical vapor deposition (PVD)
- Maintain high production output to meet R&D and business demands
- Meet production quality metric goals and follow production process controls
- Manage flow of materials and documentation
- Assist in R&D projects and improvement plans
- Maintain quality control notebook, records and documentation
- Support failure analysis
- Analyze characteristics of materials
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment and ensure that all reagents and supplies meet quality control standards
- Participate in the team meetings and prepare weekly progress reports
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related discipline
- < 2 years of work experience
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of a microfluidic device and microfabrication
- Collaborative attitude and eagerness to grow and work on a highly multi-disciplinary team
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail
