Job Summary: Junior Automation Engineer - DeltaV v14 Specialist - Onsite in Rahway, NJ
We are seeking highly motivated Junior Automation Engineers with hands-on experience in DeltaV v14 and Allen Bradley PLCs to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation and technical advancement of the SSO Pilot Plant.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food, or chemicals).
- Hands-on experience with DeltaV development, deployment, and Level-0 instrumentation.
- Familiarity with automation system architecture, design, start-up, and/or qualification.
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs as a secondary skill.
- Collaborate with the SSO Pilot Plant Senior Automation Lead to develop and deploy automation solutions in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Standardize automation solutions and practices across all operating Bays in the Pilot Plant.
- Lead investigations into automation incidents and problems, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Evaluate and optimize automated systems, ensuring quality and stability while planning for future expansion, replacement, or upgrades.
- Provide on-floor support for Pilot Plant manufacturing and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure minimal downtime for automation systems.
Qualifications: Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Proven ability to evaluate and optimize automation systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Familiarity with IT applications supporting manufacturing technology and data flow.
- A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving and team support.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SCADA systems and industrial automation in GMP environments.
- Knowledge of historians and IT applications related to automation.
- Technical project management experience.
Work Environment: This position requires full-time onsite work at the Rahway, NJ facility. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment alongside a dedicated team to ensure the success of the Pilot Plant.
