Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and driven Junior AI/ML Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity for both remote work and collaboration in our Arlington, VA office. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cutting-edge technologies and a desire to make a meaningful impact in the field of AI and ML.
Responsibilities:
Utilize your technical expertise to integrate AI services within Azure into existing and upcoming solutions.
Identify and capitalize on opportunities to leverage OpenAI/ML technologies to enhance USPS OIG processes, products, and services.
Design, develop, evaluate, test, and maintain Azure AI/ML software programs and applications.
Collaborate closely with solution architects to pilot and implement Azure AI Services and Azure OpenAI Services.
Provide support to internal teams in utilizing Speech, Computer Vision, Text, Search, and Azure Open AI to develop their own AI products.
Ensure compliance with USPS OIG policies regarding safety, security, and privacy when implementing AI/ML technologies.
Work collaboratively with technical and business teams to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Submit change requests and track progress to completion.
Document processes to refine and improve workflows.
Requirements:
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure AI, with a focus on Cognitive Services, Search, and Azure Open AI models.
Proficiency in designing and implementing solutions within the Azure environment.
Detail-oriented with the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Deep knowledge of AI algorithms, techniques, and technologies.
Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience working in an Agile environment with tools such as MS DevOps.
Self-motivated with the ability to adapt quickly to change.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Strong multitasking abilities with a focus on prioritization.
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Previous experience in a government context or with government clients is a plus.
Experience:
Three or more years of experience in data analysis and predictive tools.
Three or more years of experience in designing and developing AI software and system integration.
