We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-driven Junior Accountant to join our team in the scientific industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in a wide range of accounting functions, including month-end closing, budgeting, processing invoices, preparing income statements, year-end close, and monthly reporting. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of financial principles, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a permanent position, requiring a commitment of 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As a Junior Accountant, your key duties will include:
1. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
2. Ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.
3. Assisting with the preparation of monthly/year-end closings.
4. Preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting.
5. Assisting in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
6. Updating financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
7. Assisting with the preparation of and budgeting reports.
8. Reviewing and processing invoices and reconciling accounts.
9. Participating in annual audits.
10. Collaborating with financial management and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Junior Accountant role will have the following qualifications and skills:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 1 years of proven experience as a Junior Accountant or relevant role in the accounting/finance sector.
3. Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
4. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
5. Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
6. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.
7. Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
8. Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Organizational and leadership skills.
11. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
12. A CPA certification is a plus but not a requirement.
