We are searching for a motivated & experienced Junior Accountant

Responsible for assisting the controller with initiating and monitoring company accounting activities such as bank reconciliations, cash application, financial reporting, general ledgers, A/R and A/P. Provide support to the accounting department by participating in the monthly accounting closing process and conduct other reporting responsibilities.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Record monthly journal entries and prepare bank reconciliations
• Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
• Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end closing process, maintain schedules in support of year-end close, and assist with audit requests
• Perform monthly accruals, adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary
• Responsible for bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Communication and interface with other departments to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency
• Assist with collection and submittal of State, City and Environmental reporting information
• Perform other accounting duties and serving as backup for AP/AR dept.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Effective time management skills, self- motivated, critical attention to detail
