Junior Accountant - Southern Management Companies, LLC.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Jr. Account role posts and processes journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded. The position updates accounts receivables and issues invoices, while also updating accounts payable and performs reconciliations.


WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
* Reconciliation of all SMC cash accounts
* Payroll bank reconciliation and payroll upload
* Research and resolve cash and non-cash discrepancies
* Ensure debit/credit card transactions posted properly -- for communities
* Process all NSF, monitor DISB accounts, post cc fees and refunds, post transfers, stop payment
* Print annual 1099's for vendors and SMC's Bear Creek
* Create and compile payables for our Friday check runs
* Vendor set-ups, Vendor Café maintenance, updating COI's, verifying banking information
* Enter stop payment requests, send out updated W-9s as requested
* Process check requests
* Process the hotel sales and occupancy taxes for manual checks
* Provide on-site training assistance: check deposits and scanning
* Petty cash reconciliation and review
* Input, review, and approve service contracts (as needed)
* Input and review corporate invoices
* Payroll Positive Pay check entry to bank
* Month-end balance sheet reconciliations
* Various reporting duties as assigned
* Contribute to the team's effort by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
* Comply with all Southern Management's policies and procedures
* Perform various other duties as assigned by Corporate Controller

* Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
* Two to three (2-3) years accounting experience
