Judaic Studies Teacher - Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy
Beverly Hills, CA 90212
About the Job
Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy is a leading ECE-8th grade Zionist Orthodox Day School currently seeking a Mechanech and/or Mechanechet for our Elementary School. The school seeks candidates with an understanding and appreciation of the value of positive Judaism, a student-centered learning environment and a strong centrist orthodox religious zionist background with a desire to integrate into a young dynamic community.
The role includes teaching a variety of Limmudei Kodesh subjects including Tanach, Mishna, and TorahSheb’eal Peh. Our elementary school focuses their approach towards Chumash using the Barkai system and our Ivrit program follows a Hebrew immersion model. Our mechanchim and mechanchot give their students strong positive experiences with Judaism and teach them the tools towards independent learning. The ideal candidate will represent the school at kehilla engagements including giving weekly shiurim and drashot in the broader community as needed. Hillel has grown to be a nationally recognized institution that owes much of its growth to our unique focus on developing the broader school community. Our staff plays an integral role in the presence that we have and the programs we are able to offer our community. We offer a unique blend that synergizes the comfort and support that one can find in a large community while at the same time providing the vast and wide ranging opportunities to educate and impact students, parents and community members. The school offers a warm and caring environment as it seeks to offer a program of academic excellence to its students. The school is strongly committed to imbuing its students with a strong sense of ethics, as well as teaching them to give back to their community. The school incorporates in its mission a desire to teach, empower and inspire its students to become innovators and leaders in the Jewish and global community.
We are deeply invested in the teachers and couples that we bring to our community. In the case that one spouse is interested in teaching and the other is engaged in a profession outside of education we have a strong network within our school community to help network and assist them in a broad spectrum of professions.
