Silgan Dispensing Systems is searching for a Junior Staff Accountant to support its North American operating footprint. The Junior Staff Accountant will be based in Grandview, Missouri and primary responsibilities will include monthly closing, internal controls, and audit support. We are looking for a proactive person with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Career Opportunity:
Silgan Dispensing Systems is searching for a Junior Staff Accountant to support its North American operating footprint. The Junior Staff Accountant will be based in Grandview, Missouri and primary responsibilities will include monthly closing, internal controls, and audit support. We are looking for a proactive person with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
How You Will Impact Silgan Dispensing Systems:
- Responsible for the accounts payable process, including managing inboxes and vendor correspondence, invoice coding and approval routing, and matching expenses to purchase orders.
- Work with vendors and internal resources to ensure smooth processing of accounts payable; Research and resolve associated issues as needed.
- Support the accounting team in the performance of daily accounting processes and month-end closing for our US-based operations including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, accounts payable processing, intercompany transactions, and related activities.
- Assist with creation and periodic updates of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control documentation across our facilities in US, Canada, and Mexico
- Support internal and external audit requests by compiling data and management reports.
- Assist with sales and use tax process in US-based plants.
- Other ad-hoc projects as requested by Sr Accountant and management team.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of accounting processes.
- Associates degree in accounting or higher required
- Advanced proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel and related financial systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively across departments and locations.
