Are you an accounting professional with a passion for numbers and a knack for accuracy? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dynamic and driven Jr. Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of our organization.
Responsibilities:
As a Jr. Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing day-to-day accounting operations including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
2. Performing monthly bank reconciliations and ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
3. Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
4. Processing invoices and expense reports, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
5. Maintaining an accurate record of financial transactions, updating and maintaining the general ledger.
6. Identifying and resolving any discrepancies in the accounts.
7. Assisting with the preparation of audit samples and providing support during external audits.
8. Collaborating with other departments to improve financial procedures and ensure financial compliance.
9. Keeping up-to-date with current financial regulations and best practices in accounting.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Jr. Staff Accountant role, you must possess the following:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
3. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other business systems and software.
4. Strong knowledge of debits and credits, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
6. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact professionally with all levels of staff and management.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with strong decision-making skills.
9. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and regulations.
