Currently, we are hiring a Junior Project Accountant. You will have the opportunity to assist with projects while gaining real-world exposure to daily activities as a part of a broader accounting team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide overall assistance to the Billing department and involved in preparing non-AIA invoices as needs arise.
- Monitor and coordinate billing information between Project manager and customers for new projects.
- Assist with organizing, preparing, and sending timely and accurate AIA progress and retainage billings, along with related waivers & documents, per contract.
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, and other departments to maintain financial accuracy.
- Provide backup support for AR payment posting and follow-up with customers.
- Assist in AP payment posting; including processing credit card/vendor portal payment when needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records using construction management and accounting software.
- Provides support for internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Assists Finance department with other finance related tasks as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles GAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Ability to prioritize work to maximize efficiency.
- Capable of handling multiple projects while working independently, with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain the required level of confidentiality.
