TRIGO Global Quality Solutions has an immediate opening for a Jr. Industrial Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI.
Overall Purpose
Focus on Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) cases in an effort to improve production layouts and processes with the purpose of increasing productivity, eliminating wastefulness, reducing costs, an ensuring quality standards are maintained. Promote positive changes and training at site. Support and contribute to the company Quality Policies and QMS.

Responsibilities
Client relationship & Business development
- Point of contact for TRIGO AOI and engineering services within site
- Ensures client satisfaction and building of solid relationships
- Ensures clear and transparent communication with internal and external customers
Operations
- Responsible for engineering related costs and reports related to engineering missions to the customer
- Executes assessments/audits as per guidelines
- Monitors site engineering missions for proper documentation/information
- Makes sure engineering tools and equipment are up-to-date, with accurate information
- Select, test and deploy the appropriate AOI product(s) and configure it/them to be installed
- Be Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Trigo in area of AOI (including hardware, Spark and associated equipment)
- Design and implement LEAN practices (VSM, Continuous flow, Workplace organization 5S, Cycle time, takt time studies, Ergonomic, Define Waste, TPM program)
- Lead Kaizen events to find potential improvement
- Develop and implement work instructions and train team members
- Design, redesign, and enhance work areas and layouts to be more ergo friendly, reduce repetitive motions and inefficient methods
- Demonstrates commitment to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
- Must comply with local and company Health & Safety legislation, laws, and policies
Organization & management
- Demonstrate group and individual presentation skills; actively participate in meetings, including high level customer, supplier, and business leader meetings
- Assists/monitors overall services provided within site on a daily basis
- Develops/trains site teams to assist with automation/engineering service as related to missions
- Promotes workplace improvements and development
- Responsibility for projects quality, costs and planning targets as they related to engineering and AOI.
- Work closely with IT staff in regards to development, hardware and software.
Technical
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Establishes methods for maximum utilization of materials, production facilities and/or personnel
Other

Knowledge, skills, abilities
Hard skills
Proficiency in English
Computer skills - Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing practices and problem solving methodologies
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD ( a bonus is knowledge of Catia, SolidWorks, Fusion360, and OnShape)
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to write comprehensive job instructions
Experience with installing industrial lighting, optical inspection products, robotics, etc.
Leadership skills to conduct workshops and drive continuous improvement
