Overview:An engineering, environmental, and construction management consulting firm that provides integrated services to the environmental, energy, and infrastructure markets seeking a highly motivated Junior-level Environmental/Civil Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to join our growing Engineering, Construction and Remediation practice in San Francisco, California.
Responsibilities:- Perform field investigations that include site reconnaissance; natural resource documentation, soil, soil-vapor, and groundwater investigations; drilling, trenching, and excavation work
- Work with a team on short (1 to 5 days) and long (1 to 4 months) term field assignments.
- Work with a field team to preform natural resource inspections and surveys in remote and forested areas and support coordination of tree crews in performing vegetation management projects.
- Collect multimedia samples (air, water, soil, soil-vapor) for field and laboratory testing
- Record and interpret data, coordinate analyses, compare findings to relevant studies, screening levels, and local, State and Federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Work with Task Leaders and Project Managers to scope, cost, plan, and execute environmental investigation and remediation projects;
- Develop work plans and health & safety plans, coordinate with agencies, subcontractors and clients to execute projects;
- Prepare Phase I and II investigation summary and site closure reports for submittal to agencies.
- Ability to work independently or in a project team with demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, presentations, analytical, professional judgment, and team building skills;
- Working knowledge of health and safety practices;
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to grasp scientific concepts and apply them to different technical challenges in a principally self-directed manner with changing deadlines for various project needs;
- Experience with field data collection methods, including electronic collection of field observations, soil/rock logging, and soil/water sampling.
- Ability to learn through on-the-job experience
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must have ability to work in ambient environments for extended periods of time
- Ability to regularly travel, hours may vary. Small projects may be 1 day to a week long. Large project could require traveling to the job site for 1 to 4 months.
- Must have ability to lift 25 pounds
- Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, civil, or environmental engineering)
- 0-3 years of environmental consulting experience.
- Knowledge of environmental data collection, identification, investigation, and data entry
- Requires up to 50% travel
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher (preferred)

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
