Jr. DevOps Systems Engineer - AXS Group LLC

AXS Operations is seeking a highly technical Dev Ops Systems Engineer for its 24x7x365 Operations Center. Responsibilities include: working closely with the Product Development team to build, deploy, and support custom sites and services; tier-II/III support and escalation of a highly-available Production environment.

Role Requirements:

• Work closely with the Product Development team to build, deploy, and support custom sites and services.
• Experience with deployment automation tools such as Octopus, Jenkins, TeamCity
• Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
• Maintain an expert level of knowledge of Microsoft Windows server operating systems, and related authentication, authorization, system security, and layered products.
• Proficient in designing and deploying environments in Amazon Web Services, with functional experience with VPCs, EC2, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, CloudFront, and Route 53.
• Provide tier-II/III support and escalation of a 24x7x365 Production environment, which includes an on-call rotation that is responsible for addressing issues on all critical systems during extended coverage periods.
• Be a representative of the Systems Engineering team on collaborative technical projects.
• Act as a technical escalation point for System Administrators and Engineers.
• Automate tasks and processes with scripts and third-party tools.
• Develop and maintain the security standards to continue to achieve PCI compliance for the company.
• Coordinate and implement key infrastructure technologies including, but not limited to, domain services (AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.), system management tools, monitoring tools, databases, web services, server virtualization (AWS, VMWare), and integration tools.
• Support, maintain, and improve systems documentation, policies and procedures.
• Manage the scheduling and implementation of upgrades, modifications and installations on systems.
• Manage the evaluation and implementation of any application necessary for the Operations team to complete the day-to-day management of enterprise systems and applications.
• Enforce proper change management protocols for deployments and environmental changes

Education and Experience Required:

• BS and 1-2 years of DevOps or System Engineering experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Expert level of knowledge in Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (2008/R2, 2012/R2, 2016).
• Strong deployment and configuration management experience required.
• Knowledge of Terraform a plus
• Experience with Jira and Confluence is helpful.
• Linux/Unix Operating Systems experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with the following skillsets are highly desirable:
  • o   web servers (eg. IIS, Apache, etc.)
  • o   PowerShell scripting, cloud providers (eg. AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Understanding of application and network load balancing technologies.
• AWS Certifications are a plus.
• Leadership skills/project lead experience a plus.
