Job Details
We are currently seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and detail-oriented Commercial Litigation Paralegal. This is a permanent position and offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of our firm's commitment to excellence in commercial litigation. You will be working closely with our team of seasoned attorneys, providing critical support on complex commercial litigation cases.
Responsibilities:
As a Commercial Litigation Paralegal, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
2. Conducting the initial case assessments and investigating facts.
3. Researching and analyzing intricate legal documents, laws, and regulations.
4. Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and filing them with the court.
5. Performing administrative duties such as calendar hearings, court, and discovery deadlines.
6. Managing case-related documents and organizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system.
7. Cite-checking legal briefs to ensure compliance with court rules and Bluebook standards.
8. Coordinating the discovery process and preparing discovery requests and responses.
9. Assisting attorneys in preparing for depositions, trials, and court proceedings.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Commercial Litigation Paralegal position will have the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Paralegal Certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in commercial litigation.
3. Proficient in cite-checking and familiar with Bluebook cite checking.
4. Thorough understanding of New York law and commercial litigation procedures.
5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong research and analytical skills.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
9. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
