Jr AV Event Project Manager
As a Jr AV Event Project Manager at The Werd Company, you’ll be at the center of the action with The Werd Company’s dynamic and growing Multimedia and Production team in Austin, TX. You will help manage many aspects of event A/V production from establishing proposals, finding creative solutions to work within clients' budget constraints, and maintaining client relationships. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Jr Events Project Manager typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
As a Jr AV Event Project Manager at The Werd Company, you’ll be at the center of the action with The Werd Company’s dynamic and growing Multimedia and Production team in Austin, TX. You will help manage many aspects of event A/V production from establishing proposals, finding creative solutions to work within clients' budget constraints, and maintaining client relationships. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Jr Events Project Manager typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Responsibilities will include:
- Work alongside Project Managers to oversee all phases of events from planning to execution
- Help nurture and grow the relationship between the client and company by using various forms of communication including email, texting, phone calls and virtual meetings
- Ensure that all projects are executed within scope and within budget
- Represent Werd on-site during events by directing crew and coordinating technical / logistical elements on behalf of the Client
- Maintain quality and consistent work across platforms.
- Record event related expenses and prepare budgetary reports both before and after an event occurs
- Manage calendar priorities based on event cycle and current projects.
- Participate in client discovery (walkthroughs or meetings) to gather information integral to planning an event’s audiovisual systems and logistics.
- Ensure crew is scheduled and details communicated to all relevant project stakeholders
- Prepare progress reports of projects to present to the team and management during weekly meetings
- Schedule break-out sessions with relevant personnel depending on the project’s needs.
- Prepare agendas for meetings and manage the meeting to ensure maximum efficiency
- Learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Personality and Skill Requirements:
- Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to manage projects and use initiative and judgment within established guidelines
- Ability to handle last minute changes from a scheduling and equipment standpoint while maintaining a cool, collected mindset
- Proactively anticipates problems and actively prevents them
- Report and escalate to management as needed
- General working knowledge of how audiovisual systems function and interact with each other
- Strong organizational skills to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork skills and a strong ability to offer suggestions and improvements to processes and work effectively across a range of personalities.
- Must have a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to continuously acquire competencies and accept new challenges
- Very strong technical competency, specifically with the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, GCal)
- Working knowledge of Asana® or other project management tool is an added benefit
- Strong oral and written communication with attention to detail
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Has an “above and beyond” mindset
- Must be persistent in finding solutions until all options are exhausted
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Compensation
- Starting at $18 per hour
- Full Time, up to 40 hours per week, non-exempt employee
- Overtime available at discretion of management
- 80 hours of yearly PTO on accrual basis
- 40 hours of sick time per year
- Training is paid at base rate of $15 per hour
*Training time period and pay rates will be based on experience and skill
