Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to manage and process payments, ensure compliance with accounting procedures, and maintain accurate financial records. Key responsibilities include handling payments for invoices, employee reimbursements, credit card transactions, and tax accruals. The role also involves resolving voucher exceptions, preparing adjusting entries, and managing check cancellations and replacements. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Process payments for inventory and non-inventory materials and services invoices.
- Handle reimbursement of employee travel and business expenses, and petty cash replenishments in compliance with guidelines and procedures.
- Process reclassification of company credit card transactions.
- Calculate sales tax accrual.
- Review and resolve voucher exceptions requiring coordination with various departments, and initiate necessary corrections and adjustments.
- Review and analyze accounting transactions for proper coding and ensure accuracy of information and calculations.
- Prepare adjusting and correcting entries for accounting transactions.
- Process cancellation and stop payments of checks, and issue replacement checks.
- Upload spreadsheets to create vouchers in the accounting system.
- Perform other Accounts Payable functions as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager.
Qualifications
- Any combination of college and experience equivalent to graduation from a four-year college with major coursework in accounting or a closely related field with significant course work in accounting.
- 2 years of experience in accounting
