JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN - SOLAR CONSTRUCTION
SOLON Corporation, a leading commercial solar design and construction company in Arizona, is seeking a qualified Journeyman Electrician to work on its projects throughout the Southwest United States.

Key Tasks
- Assemble, install, and test electrical wiring and equipment using hand and power tools.
- Pull and terminate conductors to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and compliance with code.
- Test electrical systems and circuit continuity in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as megohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Install ground leads and connect power cabling.
- Work from ladders and scaffolds to install or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
Skills/ Requirements
- Journeyman Electrician certification in applicable states
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an electrician in commercial construction.
- Ability to travel to other cities and Out-of-state travel will be required for both short- and long-term assignments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
- In-depth NEC knowledge
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety requirements.
- Solar experience preferred but not required.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred but not required.
- Leadership experience
Working Conditions
The work can be physically demanding. It involves frequently working in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather and working conditions. Workers may be subjected to extreme weather conditions and terrain, as well as physical circumstances involving extensive climbing, lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
This position requires weekday and, possibly weekend work on assigned sites and performing work supporting those assigned sites. Assigned sites may also require travel, overnight, or extended stays. Sites typically are in the Southwestern United States.
