Journeyman Diesel Technician - Gpac

Seeking an experienced Journeyman Diesel Technician for a well-respected, multi-location Construction Equipment Sales and Service company. Qualified applicants understand the importance of doing a job correctly and the value of satisfied customers. Regular duties include basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment in the shop and service locations.

Journeyman Diesel Technician Responsibilities:

• Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on earthmoving equipment. 
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Efficient worker able to deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
• Team player and people person who can communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Experience with DPF systems
• Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties.

Journeyman Diesel Technician Qualifications: 

• 7+ years of experience performing service repairs on earth moving equipment.
• Volvo, John Deere, Caterpillar, JCB experience is preferred. 
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of construcion and earth moving equipment.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; associate's degree preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• A forklift license is preferred.

Pay is $30-$45/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
