Journeyman Cyber Security Systems Engineer - Tactical Engineering & Analysis Inc

We are currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support the Navy Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) development efforts.  The Cybersecurity Engineer will support throughout the program development lifecycle of platforms, enclaves, and systems based on Defense in Depth Information Assurance Functional Architecture (DFIA).

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

• Develop and maintain system security requirements in accordance with DoD, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Department of Navy (DoN), and Command Site security directives, standards, and processes in the total engineering effort.

• Provide security engineering and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) analysis for the program, in order to plan, schedule, implement and integrate the operational use of all system resources, ensuring IA and security compliance within DoD, Navy and Command Site local system Security directives.

• Prepare and document security inputs for systems throughout the system’s life cycle by working closely with all engineering disciplines to include without limitation: network, software, hardware, and integration; system administrators; help desk personnel; and the Command Site Information Assurance Management (IAM) office.

  Collect and import system security test results and other supporting security test analysis data. The Contractor shall generate and maintain data and provide regular updates to Government system/cyber test personnel.

• Collect and maintain the appropriate, current system security accreditation and associated documentation for operational afloat systems. The Contractor shall also conduct laboratory, schoolhouse facilities, and shipboard verification of such accreditation/documentation, as specified by DoD policies.

• Perform cybersecurity testing that result in verification of and validation of system cybersecurity requirements.

Equipment Used:

• Computer and keyboard/mouse and other typical office processing equipment.

Essential Physical Tasks:

• Ability to use a computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on an constant basis

Written Communications:

• Responsible for error free written reports and briefing.

Verbal Communications:

• Must be able to clearly and adequately communicate needs and requirements to internal staff, clients and Program Managers in order to adequately form and respond to tasks assigned.

Skills / Qualifications: 

• BS in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline desired or a minimum of 4 years of demonstrated professional systems engineering experience with a major DoD platform in place of BS degree.

• Five (5) years of experience with DoD major platform, weapon, Command and Control, or fire control systems program with concurrent experience as a team leader.

• Three (3) years of cyber-security experience in preparing and submitting documentation for obtaining Navy/DoD security A&A for major weapon systems.

Customer Interface Activities:

• Interfacing directly with stakeholders including and other industry partners and customers as needed in the execution essential Functions and duties.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED with four years of expierience can replace;
• BS in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline desired

Required Certifications:

• Information Assurannce Technical Level 1 or
• Information Assurance Management Level 1 or
• IASAE Level 1

Work Schedule: 

• 9/80
• Must be able to adjust to changing company, contract, or client response timeline and schedule requests.

Pay Range: $110,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR  the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
