Job Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Reviewer is responsible for ensuring that all engineering standards from various third-party pole owners are met in the applications submitted by engineering vendors for joint-use projects. The QC Reviewer plays a key role in reviewing pole attachment applications, verifying compliance with utility specifications, and ensuring that engineering requirements are adhered to before applications are submitted for approval. The QC Reviewer plays a key role in reviewing pole attachment applications, verifying compliance with utility specifications, and ensuring that engineering requirements are adhered to before applications are submitted for approval. This role also involves collaborating with the Quality Control Lead and escalating any issues with vendor submissions.

- QC Review of Applications:
Conduct thorough reviews of pole attachment applications submitted by third-party engineering vendors. Ensure that the applications meet the specific engineering standards and utility requirements and comply with all QC Checklist. - Compliance with Utility Specifications:
Verify that submitted applications adhere to utility-specific requirements, National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and other relevant industry standards. Ensure correct cable attachments, clearance requirements, guying, and cabinet installations. - Standards Adherence:
Ensure engineering standards regarding pole attachment, equipment placement, and guying specifications are followed, including bolt placements, horizontal clearances, vertical clearances, and adherence to restrictions for different pole types (e.g., wood, metal, fiberglass). - Communication and Escalation:
Collaborate with the Lead QC Reviewer to address any issues or discrepancies found in vendor applications. Escalate vendor-related issues, especially regarding non-compliance or missed deadlines, to the Lead QC Reviewer. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of the review process and track any rejected applications or required corrections. Provide regular reports on application status, compliance issues, and vendor performance. - Continuous Improvement:
Provide feedback to the engineering vendors and internal teams to improve the quality of future submissions. Help establish and maintain QC processes and QC Checklist to ensure consistent adherence to utility standards.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of joint-use pole attachment standards and utility engineering specification.
- Reference Specification: Familiarity with NESC and other industry standards is required.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to meticulously review and verify application details, ensuring they comply with utility requirements. Strong attention to detail in reviewing technical documents and pole attachment specifications.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with engineering vendors and internal teams. Ability to escalate issues and provide clear, actionable feedback when discrepancies arise. - Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:
Proven ability to identify non-compliance issues or discrepancies in engineering submissions and resolve them efficiently by collaborating with the Lead QC Reviewer and other stakeholders. - Vendor Management:
Ability to manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring that engineering submissions meet quality standards and deadlines. Escalate non-compliance and missed deadlines to the Lead QC Reviewer when necessary.
- Minimum of three years of experience in quality control, utility joint-use, or engineering review processes, particularly in overhead distribution and pole attachment compliance.
- Familiarity with utility specifications and industry standards.
- NESC requirements are essential.
- Ability to work for extended periods in a stationary position while consistently using computer systems for processing and submitting applications.
- Frequent use of computers and technology devices for data management, application submittal, and project tracking.
