This role requires someone who is a faster learner and has a desire to work on a small team that impacts the entire organization and customer base. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing our Jive platform customer-facing support community.
Responsibilities of the Jive Engineer/Technical Lead:
Implement yearly major upgrades to the latest Jive core product.
Design, build, test, and release Java-based solutions to enhance the core Jive application
Identify and debug Jive code, understanding and managing the vendor database including necessary performance enhancements and underlying architecture
Engage with Jive and Community Product Manager to identify defects and help focus on solving user related issues
Work directly with the Community Product Manager to understand the business needs and designing solutions to solve the necessary business needs
Promote and help the collaboration team drive adoption within the organization and provide technical insight to integrating the product with other areas of the company
Work closely with other specialists and architects, such as security, compliance, deployment and production management specialists, etc.
Be the SME (subject matter expert) on Jive and engage with others to help promote the understanding of the technical vision of the product
Test new versions of the vendor software as it is upgraded yearly to the latest Jive product
Day-to-day administration of the platform
Troubleshoot and debug issues
Liaison with the vendor opening support tickets with Jive Support as needed
Provide user support to the community team members on platform
Plan and implement Jive module programs
Integrate plugins and add-ons with the other systems
Maintain analytics and reporting
Create technical documentation and support manuals
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills - essential:
Minimum of 5 years' experience on build / engineering technology
Solid understanding of the end-to-end IT process, including architecture, design, implementation and operations
Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
Solid knowledge of Oracle and SQL queries
Solid understanding of the Jive architecture version 6 or later and the underlying APIs
Hands on experience using Jive software either in some of work environment or through an external source
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Experience deploying software and hardware in a large scale corporation
Ability to work with customers/users providing level 3 customer support
Ability to work with others outside the organization (external vendor relationships)
Technical skills - Preferred:
Understanding of Single Sign On
Experience with Jive 7+
Veracode for security scans
Understanding of audit practices and security
Understanding of SSL certificate implementation and maintenance
Understanding of Google analytics and Adobe Omniture
General skills:
Building on a very strong technical knowledge and experience base in the above areas candidates must be highly articulate and persuasive communicators, with strong collaboration and teamwork skills and a proven ability to manage the delivery of innovative solutions to a large, geographically diverse global customer base. Experience in a regulated industry such as financial services a strong plus.
Education & qualifications:
Educated to Bachelors or Master's degree level in Computer Science, or a related discipline, from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in the information technology industry
Implementing and upgrading a Jive hosted or on-prem instance.
Creating technical documentation and support manuals
Designing, implementing and testing software
Writing preformant SQL and dealing with relational database
Troubleshooting and debugging software problems
