About the Job
As a member of the Menzies Aviation Team, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on
airport terminal equipment – passenger loading bridges and baggage conveyer systems. Job function also involves electric
mechanical equipment with 3 phase motors, PLC controls, variable frequency drives, gear boxes and electric/hydraulic
components.
- Location: Baltimore International Airport
- Schedule: position has 3 shifts, and the department runs 24/7
- Rate of Pay: $23.00 an hour
- Required: Must possess mechanical tools
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently performs work on commercial rated electrical motors, control wiring 24V through 480V single – three
phase power. - Performs preventative maintenance inspections, lubrication, and emergency repairs, both inside and outside facilities in all-weather environments on various airport terminal specific equipment.
- Diagnose and identify defective electric components, motors, contactors, wiring circuits with control boards and switches,
using the original equipment manufacture’s technical manuals - Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace failed mechanical gear boxes, hydraulic systems/valves, bearings, chains & sprockets,
ball screws, high and low voltage components, including related control circuits. - Interpret manufacture mechanical/electrical/hydraulic schematics to apply logical approach in troubleshooting and repair
activities. - Must be proficient in the use of mechanical tools and volt/amp/ohm meters.
- Must possess technical knowledge and proven experience with the use of hand tools and test methods – schematics and
meter use. - Adheres to the company’s safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with the location’s attendance/tardiness standards.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Able to meet the Station’s attendance standards.
Qualifications

- 3 to 5 years mechanical experience
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must possess valid US driver’s license
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
- All mechanics are required to perform all duties of the other positions, as needed do to operational need; Example: a Level I
- Mechanic may need to perform tasks of a Level III when directed
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport Badge

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel
objects, tools, or controls; reach with arms, climb or balance; and talk or hear.
The individual must also be able to open and close large valve on 16" product delivery pipelines quickly. Opening and closing
these valves involve twisting and pulling motion and sometimes considerable physical exertion.
Other tasks include digging and shoveling, such as snow removal around equipment and office. Employee may also engage in
debris removal which involves lifting, bending, and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 70lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly work in outside weather conditions. The employee
frequently works near moving mechanical parts, high voltages, and high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures. The employee is also
frequently exposed to very loud noise levels, fumes or airborne particles and hazardous substances, materials, or waste. The
employee occasionally works in high, precarious places.
Must have Electrical, Maintenance, Experience with the Fuel Farm SCADA System and PLC, and computer knowledge. Under
the daily supervision of the Maintenance Manager with assistance as needed from the Station Manager. Performs periodic
maintenance and inspections on filters, pumps, valves, tanks, pressure controls, metering and gauging equipment, company
vehicles. Troubleshoot and repair above mentioned equipment as well as pipeline issues, electrical equipment, motors, switch
gear, and lighting. Ensures that all work assigned is performed in a timely fashion with quality workmanship. Ensure through
definitive methods that product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth; ensure all work is completed in a timely manner,
contributing to an efficient operation, while projecting a professional image for MENZIES AVIATION.
