Location: West Chester, PA
Position Type: Contract until 6-30-15; possible extensions
Rate: Market/DOE (Only W2 / 1099)
Project Description
This person will be part of the Platform Resiliency initiative which is aimed at improving the stability of several key systems through a combination of tactical improvements, system consolidation and re-architecture for future scale and extensibility. Within this large initiative, the Java/Cassandra Architect will primarily be responsible for design/implementation/optimization of a new Cassandra-based graph database. This person needs to have very solid experience with performance optimization of Java generally, and Cassandra specifically and knowledge of other related cutting edge technologies as described. They will also be very hands-on with implementation work, not just designing and handing off to others.

Required Skills/Experience
Java Architecture and Development - Very senior level proficiency with:
- Java
- Cassandra, including the ability to guide a team with respect to best practices for implementing it
- REST/SOAP Web Services
A working knowledge of one or more of the following would be an advantage
- Mongodb
- Elasticsearch (this would be really useful)
- Graph Technologies (Neo4J/TitanDB)
- Kafka/Storm
- Spark
- Hadoop (writing custom M/R jobs / using tools like Hive and Pig)
- WebLogic/Tomcat
- Relational database development (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
- Experience with LDAP frameworks such as the Unbound SDK or Spring LDAP
- Yammer metrics
- Graphite/Grafana
- AppDynamics
- Perl
