Job Title: Java Developer
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Duration: 6-12 months
Start date is early January 2015.
F2F required.

Requirements to focus on and that are a MUST HAVE:
Create Java Web Services from scratch, not referring to anything else from a prior application, etc.
Please do not consider anyone with only .Net Web Services
Must have experience with Java 1.6 or Higher
Must have experience with JAX-WS and JAX-RS
Must have experience with implementing Java Web Services under Apache or JBoss AS7. We are currently using a JBoss Server.
Agile environment experience
Experience/Proficiency in SOA Applications

Java Developer Job Specifications
In this role, the Java Developer will be responsible for developing web services for a state of the art online policy administration and quoting system. Further responsibilities/duties are listed below:
Understand existing systems before producing code
Produce code that is well-architected, clearly decoupled maintainable and secure
Create web services and middle tier codes
Demonstrate adherence to excellent design principles as well as understanding what makes a secure and efficient system
Develops programming applications in an agile development environment
Work and understand end user requirements; and translates business requirements in to state of the art technical solutions
Works with other teams and specialists within the organization
Identify the scope of an area of development work, to recognize and understand the potential impact on other areas and to provide accurate time estimates to a successful project completion
Provides development support to existing applications
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or mathematics
Skills/Experience:
Required:
4 + years of experience in application design and development in Java
Experience in developing Java Web Services using JAX-WS, JAX-RS, Apache CXF or JBossWS (AS7) framework
Experience and proficiency in SOA applications
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other teams
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Very good attention to detail
Ability to produce clear and concise documentation
Experience working with end users
Travel Domestic/International less than 10%
Required Technical Competencies:
Java 1.6 or higher, JSF, Spring, Hibernate, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, AJAX, JQUERY, OO Design & OO Programming, Eclipse IDE, JUnit, XML Technologies, JAX-WS, JAX-RS
Preferred Technical Competencies:
Tamino XML Database
Additional Information:
35 hour work week.
No Overtime
Position start date - First or second week of January. They are currently migrating to a new platform (Java 1.7) and this project will not be completed until the end of December. The Java Developing role cannot start until the migration is completed.
They will telephone interview the candidates first and then if all goes well they would bring them in for a F2F interview.
