Position Overview

The janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facilities. This includes daily cleaning tasks, managing waste disposal, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all occupants. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Cleaning:

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and countertops.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
• Empty trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper waste disposal.

1. Maintenance of Common Areas:

• Clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, and other common areas.
• Ensure that windows and glass surfaces are cleaned regularly.
• Polish and clean fixtures, furniture, and equipment.

1. Specialized Cleaning Tasks:

• Clean carpets and upholstery using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Clean and maintain outdoor areas, including sidewalks and parking lots.

1. Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely and appropriately.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor immediately.

1. Inventory and Supplies:

• Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Order new supplies as needed and ensure they are stored properly.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.

1. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with other staff members to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding tasks and responsibilities.
• Provide feedback on the effectiveness of cleaning procedures and suggest improvements.
