Janitor - Full time - JSM Living

JSM is a growing, local property management company hiring for a permanent full-time Janitor to join our Facilities team located in Champaign, IL. Our Facilities team ensures our properties are well maintained on the exterior and interior, which creates a welcoming environment for our tenants.

What you'll do

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Janitor assists with the completion of all commercial and residential janitorial operations by maintaining the appearance of properties through recurring custodial upkeep. The essential job functions are listed below:

• Clean and maintain designated building areas both inside and outside daily (includes lobbies, restrooms, offices, conference rooms, parking lots, and public areas)
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and deep clean carpets with the appropriate equipment
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling throughout various properties
• Assist re-occurring power washing at specific properties
• Assist in company-wide snow removal
• Perform heavy-duty cleaning tasks and special projects
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of JSM vehicles to pass routine cleanliness checks

What you'll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license is required for this position
• Ability to handle basic repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial work
• Comfortable walking between properties and performing tasks indoors and outdoors

**This is a full-time 40-hour/week position working daytime shifts primarily Monday - Friday; shift times generally start at 8 am, with a 6:30 am start time once a week. The position does require periodic availability after hours and is required to work during elevated times for the department - at times this may include weekends.
