Item Processing Operations Specialist
As an Item Processing Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the deposit and transaction processing functions. You will manage a variety of responsibilities, including check verification, monetary adjustments, account maintenance, and credit/debit card operations. Working closely with both the front office and operations teams, you will be instrumental in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check and Account Processing:
- Perform check verifications and adjustments using tools like Argo Oasis.
- Handle monetary transactions, fee modifications, and account updates.
- Card and Account Maintenance:
- Manage debit/credit card activation, travel alerts, limit modifications, and blocking/unblocking.
- Process credit card payments and other related tasks.
- Account Monitoring and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate account statuses, including dormant reactivations, deceased account processing, and account purging/reopening.
- Assist with escrow accounts, IOLA/IOLTA interest reporting, and other specialized account types.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while handling subpoenas, check and statement copies, and other document requests.
- Scan and maintain electronic documentation for audits and record-keeping.
- Team Collaboration and Backup Support:
- Provide support for various team functions, including stop payments, holds, collections, and transaction account maintenance.
- Serve as backup for W8/withholding maintenance, deposit returns, and other key processes.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in deposit operations or a related role within the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with financial/accounting software (e.g., Silverlake).
- Knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and document management systems.
- Strong data entry skills and accuracy for managing high transaction volumes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Basic understanding of data security and regulatory standards in financial operations.
