Piedmont Advantage Credit Union is seeking to hire an IT Technician I at our Advantage Way location. The IT Technician I will work in cooperation with the IT Team to ensure that the technology needs of the Credit Union are met in such a way that will allow our employees to provide world-class service to our member/owners. The IT Technician I will serve in a traditional help desk capacity with knowledge of relevant hardware, software, standard office equipment, etc. This individual will possess a strong desire to deliver a high level of customer service to their internal members. It is also critical that the incumbent stay informed of the cutting-edge trends and technologies being developed every day to help our business processes run efficiently.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Installs, supports, and manages the hardware/software/network components; responds to and develops solutions for component failures and complex technical problems in all of these areas to deliver a sound and stable computing infrastructure.
- Administer DNA environment and staff applications. Support the hardware that is used for check scanning, receipt printing & scanning, support the application and user administration.
- Consults with computer operations management, supervisory staff, and various IT personnel to assure that IT standards for control, security, and recoverability are understood and followed; coordinates with other IT Technical Support staff to assure that appropriate IT computing standards are implemented and maintained; manages software upgrades to assure compliance with standards and control procedures.
- Participates in member conversions by: (a) communicating directly with users and servicers in gathering requirements information; (b) explaining technical requirements for files and data communications; and (c) coordinating on-site testing of data communication and software customization.
- Post & Upload Financial Files and administration of the eAtlas program.
- Develops and tests data communications procedures for links to members and data services; develops and tests interface file handling procedures for data moving between platforms, members, and media.
- Administer CISCO & Microsoft Unified Communications
- Collaborates with IT Network Systems staff to support the following computing components: (a) PC/LAN servers and workstations, (b) WAN communications links, (c) hot-site hardware/software, and (d) office automation software; assists IT Programming Staff in on-site research of production problems and training of supervisory staff on new procedures/software.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education, Training, Abilities & Experience:
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
- Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
- Experience in PC usage and hardware/software support.
- Fiserv DNA experience a plus.
- Batch and workflow programming desirable.
- PC "TCPIP" and Networking experience a plus.
- Ability to diagnose problems over a WAN in remote locations.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and support personal computers, Windows OS, network and data communications software and hardware and be familiar with basic programming logic, processing concepts and terminology, and processing rigors are preferred.
