The IT Technician I position is responsible for providing technical assistance and performing high-volume, routine up to complex tasks necessary to install, manage and improve the functionality of the various Windows Server, PCs, printers, and terminals throughout Ahern Hotel and Convention Center (AHC). This position will assists in both Windows PC/server application and hardware support, management and deployment. In addition, provides a first line of support for desktop systems and end user support when required.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope.
- Responsible for all actions/responsibilities as described in company controlled documentation for this position.
- Contributes to and supports the corporation's quality initiatives by planning, communicating and encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation's quality improvement efforts.
- Evaluates, tests and installs new software releases/updates and system upgrades, and resolves software-related problems.
- Creates, Manages and Deploys Software System Accounts.
- Monitors and updates system configurations to ensure data integrity.
- Develops documentation to support ongoing maintenance and specific problem resolution.
- Works with and coordinates appropriate IT/IS staff to implement solutions which will meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Keeps abreast of new applications and technologies that affect server, network and PC performance.
- Performs system administration on network server and PC systems.
- Addresses PC and Server hardware functionality and performance in a proactive manner.
- Installs and supports Network related hardware and cabling, PC/Server Hardware, Printers and IT accessories and software.
- Support, promote and implement AHC policies and procedures for the purpose of complying with State, Federal, PCI and/or Gaming regulations as needed.
- Helps create and enforce security on the AHC server environment.
- Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
- Performs other work related duties and responsibilities as directed, assigned or requested.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of relevant Information Technology experience required
- Three (3) years of Microsoft related server software experience required
- One (1) years of PC hardware and software support required
- Microsoft Software Certifications preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, Word, Project, Visio)
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts and procedures with the IT/IS field
- Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SMTP, and TCP/IP
- Working knowledge of file share permissions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft server software preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 Product Suites preferred
- Computer and related computer hardware troubleshooting
- Ability to work from job order tickets with little supervision
- Ability to think logically and use problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with very detailed information
- Ability to handle fluctuating volumes of work and prioritize to meet deadlines and needs of the user community
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems or related field preferred
- Valid Driver’s License required
