About The Job
The IT Systems Engineer candidate works within Dudek’s IT Infrastructure and Operations Group and is responsible for installing, configuring, testing and maintaining the company’s IT services, including Azure-based datacenter components as well as other IaaS (infrastructure-as-a-service), PaaS (platform-as-a-service) and SaaS (software-as-a-service) offerings. Additional technical areas of responsibility include internal wired and wireless networks, authentication and security platforms, premise-based caching technologies as well as monitoring, alerting and other IT management tools.

Proposed Salary Range:$105,000 - $115,000 annually*
*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and deploying new IT solutions and enhancements to existing systems based on the requirements and feedback of the business and technical stakeholders.
- Assist team in gathering and defining system requirements and goals to deliver appropriate technology solutions.
- Provide ownership of Dudek’s local and wide-area networks and related components such as gateways, firewalls, etc. Ensure network services are implemented in a fault-tolerant and secure manner.
- Ensure all Dudek systems are designed and built to support performance, reliability, and security service objectives.
- Stay abreast of cloud infrastructure best practices and service offering updates to enhance Dudek platforms to operation more efficiently and/or provide cost-savings.
- Responsible for execution of Dudek’s business continuity and backup/restore capabilities.
- Design, deploy and maintain monitoring and alerting services.
- Design, deploy, maintain, and administer various IT Security services.
- Provide ownership of various core IT service platforms such as compute, file storage and remote access, and application/desktop virtualization systems.
- Ensure that solutions are implemented in a quality way, working hand-in-hand with vendors, service providers and other internal stakeholders.
- Partner with IT System Administrators and IT Systems Analysts on deployment of new services and/or service upgrades across the entire IT services portfolio.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, process and service records.
- Monitor and test system performance; troubleshoot issues; implement both proactive and reactive remediation to resolve issues.
- Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures related to the operation of Dudek networks, servers, and other services.
- Adhere to change management processes to sustain service reliability and continuity.
- Works within the IT Project Management framework to ensure solutions are delivered quickly within the resource, budgetary and timeframe requirements.
- Provide advanced subject matter expertise on IT services and serve as an escalation point to the other IT service teams. Provide engineering-level support of various IT services that are escalated from the IT Service Group or IT Business Group.
- Provide IT Service Desk staff and IT Systems Administrators with needed access, documentation and training to provide day-to-day support of IT services as appropriate.
- Assist in the evaluation of vendor proposals against Dudek project requirements.
- Have the desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure administration certifications) preferred.
- 12-15+ years of experience in an IT environment with technical experience in a diverse portfolio of technologies and systems.
- Extensive knowledge of infrastructure, networking and cloud-based services
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical.
- Extensive hands-on experience with various technologies, including, but not limited to:
- Microsoft Azure IaaS / PaaS components and related cost management
- AzureAD / EntraID including conditional access, SSO, provisioning, RBAC and API integrations
- Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Security and Compliance
- Active Directory including Group Policy and Windows Server
- Powershell scripting for automation and management tasks
- Palo Alto firewalls and related services
- Cisco Meraki wired and wireless solutions
- Cloud-based file sharing and storage solutions (e.g. Panzura a plus)
- Cloud-based virtual server and desktop services (e.g. Workspot, VMWare a plus)
- Cloud-based video communications (e.g. Zoom UCaaS a plus)
- Extensive technical knowledge of security principles and best practices with experience of implementing secure systems and services and responding to incidents or breaches
- Establish and maintain effective management and peer-level relationships.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with multiple priorities.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Research skills on existing and new emerging technologies.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Able to work on challenging assignments in a team environment

Working Conditions:
- This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
- This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.
- This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
- This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with peers, clients, etc. Speaking, hearing and listening are required.
