GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the general guidance of the Restaurant Technology Director, this position has the primary responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, and support of effective retail technology solutions within Potbelly shops. Through a consulting relationship with key business clients, this person will proactively deliver high quality, innovative strategic solutions aligned with clear requirements.
FOCUS
Responsibilities
- Provides lifecycle management for in-shop hardware and software technology solutions, including but not limited to Olo, Paytronix, NCR/Aloha POS and Crunchtime back office.
- Serves as the technical subject matter expert for integrating into Potbelly's Enterprise Solutions.
- Proactively consults, communicates, and collaborates with internal clients and business units to analyze information needs and functional requirements ensuring delivery of business value within proposed solutions.
- Leads and participates in business process reviews and other activities to drive continual improvement of solutions and processes.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of emerging technologies.
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of relevant industry best practices as well as the company's strategic business plans.
- Assists in developing training curriculum for all newly instituted projects, applications and concepts that require continuous ITS support
- Creates quality testing plans and coordinates the successful testing and delivery of a solution that meets the business needs. Ensures that user acceptance testing is approved.
- Deliver innovative ways that systems can be leveraged, integrated, and enhanced to deliver greater value to the business.
- Enforces IT controls to ensure integrity of production systems and data.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the business and good overall understanding of technology and has a strong ability to ensure that technical solutions meet the needs of the business.
- Has good communication skills – listens, speaks articulately, and writes well.
- Gains excellent understanding of the core business systems and provides technical support as well as usage guidance to the business units.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 45 to 55 hours a week.
- Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data.
- Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the field.
- Must be able to communicate heavily through telephone, e-mail and in-person communications.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

- 3-5 years' experience in a retail or restaurant environment, including: business requirements gathering/analysis, project management and planning, effective vendor management, and relationship management
- 2+ years' experience in Business Systems, specifically retail POS and Back Office technology architecture and its interface with other retail technologies strongly preferred
- B.A. /B.S. in MIS or Computer Science, or an equivalent in education and experience.
- Experience with Windows networking, scripting, imaging, and .NET Framework, or other programming language, a plus
- Working knowledge of Agile project management methodologies, a plus
- A Strong knowledge of food costs, inventory, sales, and labor in a Restaurant Environment is a plus.
- Toast and/or NCR menu Item configuration, pricing and deployment experience will be beneficial.
- Use of NCR deployment utilities or some similar deployment experiences in a large enterprise is necessary.
- A strong knowledge of Olo and/or other e-Commerce platforms is necessary.
- Exhibit an ability to think and plan strategically
- Must have a strong sense of initiative.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Exceptional planning and organization skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening skills.
